Building Homes...Building Hope

Habitat for Humanity Vermilion is a Project Committee of the Lloydminster Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization.
Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses are then sold with no interest charged.
Our goal is to provide families in need a "hand-up" not a "hand-out".

Happy Canada Day!  We can feel proud to belong in a society that builds homes for those who cannot afford to.

Habitat Vermilion is looking for a few able hands for Thursday, July 2nd.  We need to level the floor and pack it to prepare for the cement to be poured.

Please message us on Facebook, or contact Candice at 780-581-8982.

HUGE BOTTLE DRIVE for Habitat Vermilion

You can drop your bottles in a container located at 4717 48B avenue, the site of our new Habitat home.

Please help us take this home to completion.

Here are more pics of our BBQ fundraiser of June 18.  We hit the THOUSAND DOLLAR mark!

Thank you.

June 18, 2015 -- Our fundraiser BBQ was a smashing, sizzling success.  Thank you to all our friends and supporters, and to those who donated towards the completion of Habitat Vermilion Superbuild #2.

Many many thanks to Eastalta Co-op for loaning us their marvellous grill, to FOCUS for the use of their parking lot, and to Parkview Alliance Church for the signs.

With your support we raised more than $1,000.  Thank you.

Our Honorary Chairs, Gwen and Tom Kibblewhite cooked up a storm.  People were coming back for seconds!

Your friendship is a blessing.

Friday, May 29, 2015

FRIDAY MAY 29 was a beautiful day.  Brandy Robertson and her lovely children were introduced to the community that made this 'miracle' house possible.

The media were out in full: the Vermilion Standard, the Vermilion Voice and Hiway 16 News were there.  We really appreciated their presence.

Jessica Meroniuk, Karen Baxter and the FOCUS staff were present, and Councillor Clint McCullough of the Town of Vermilion was there to lend his support.
