Building Homes...Building Hope

Habitat for Humanity Vermilion is a Project Committee of the Lloydminster Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization.
Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses are then sold with no interest charged.
Our goal is to provide families in need a "hand-up" not a "hand-out".

Lot Purchase Complete

The Vermilion Adopt-a-Home Project committee is pleased to announce that the purchase of the lot at 4720 – 55 Avenue is complete. Thanks to a generous donation on the part of the owner of the lot, Darren Swanson, Vermilion’s Habitat for Humanity committee was able to close the purchase, and the building project can now go ahead.
A Lot Dedication Ceremony will be held at the site on April 19 at 6:00 pm. The public is invited to join the Vermilion Adopt-a-Home committee, the Lloydminster “On the Border” committee, and local dignitaries for this event.
In addition, the development permit has been approved, and generously donated, by the Town of Vermilion. The home that will be built on the lot is a modest 980 square foot, two bedroom home with a walk-out basement. Depending on the size of the selected family, some rooms in the basement may also be developed.
“Canvassing businesses and organizations in town is almost complete,” says Bryce Ashlin-Mayo. “We want everyone to have the opportunity to get involved with this amazing project. If we missed approaching a business, group, or individual that wants to make a donation, or volunteer, all they have to do is contact me or Sandi Unruh, or any committee member.” Businesses are continuing to generously respond, the latest being the Credit Union with a “Siding Sponsor” level donation.
To view the lot and house plans, volunteer your time, or make a donation to help provide decent housing for those in need, visit the Home and Garden Show anytime on April 17 and 18. Information about Habitat for Humanity will be presented at 3:00 pm on both days.

Information is also available at and donations can be made at the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce.
Remember, you can also support the Habitat Garage Sale at the Alliance Church on April 17 and the silent auction at the Spring Market on April 24.
