Building Homes...Building Hope

Habitat for Humanity Vermilion is a Project Committee of the Lloydminster Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization.
Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses are then sold with no interest charged.
Our goal is to provide families in need a "hand-up" not a "hand-out".

Dear Community Member,

Our first Habitat for Humanity build which stretched from the Spring of 2011 until snowfall in 2012 was an amazing example of cooperation and generous donations of time, money, and skills from businesses and private individuals in Vermilion and the surrounding region. We were amazed with the generosity of our community.

Housing continues to be a challenge for many, who, on their own, would be unlikely to ever experience the stability of being in a position to have a mortgage to pay.  We are committed to building again.  This time we have a greater challenge.  Whereas the Provincial Government previously gave communities undertaking Habitat builds a grant of around $90 000 they now are providing $30 000.  Because of this, we are faced with the challenge of raising $100 000 for this next build.

Hopefully we can access the generosity of large corporations that set aside pockets of dollars for special projects.   Through fundraising events and your monetary donations, we are very dependent on your generosity.

If you would like to help a family have a home to call their own by making it possible for them to have a manageable mortgage, please join us in this endeavor to make this happen.
Eleanor Sanderson would be happy to receive your donations and give you a charitable donation receipt.  You can reach her at Stewart Reality.  Any of the committee would also be glad to accept your donation.

Gifts in Kind (donating your skills) or items for Silent Auction will also be accepted with gratitude.
